Boise coffee brand to bring brewery vibe to new Boise Bench location

Caffeina Coffee Roasting Company plans its second Boise location on the Boise Bench. It should be open by mid-July according to co-owner Lyndsey Hopkins.

The first Caffeina opened in 2018 on State and Collister – an offshoot of the local Coffee Studio brand.

The latest location is on Overland Rd. at Raymond St., behind the Anytime Fitness. Hopkins says she looks for unique locations and spaces when building out new ideas.

“I like building badass spaces that have attention to detail and attention to your team,” Hopkins said. “The Bench is a cool part of Boise and it’s been here a long time. I would say the community hands down is loyal to local”

The new local business will feature a 50-foot long bar, plus a community area, old school house benches and more. It also includes a drive-thru window.

Coffeehouse with a brewery vibe

The menu will feature Caffeina’s line of locally-brewed coffees and baked goods. It will also feature beer and wine service – and serve customers from morning through night.

Hopkins teamed with Kris Price on Caffeina. He co-founded Crooked Fence Brewing, and that experience and knowledge translate to the Caffeina brand.

“The concept integrates beer and wine, and tends toward that industrial coffee house look,” Hopkins said. “It’s a mix of a coffee house and a brewery from an aesthetic standpoint.”

A previous Coffee Studio drive-thru kiosk a few blocks away closed in 2017. Hopkins said the location was mostly a success but had limitations.

“What I learned about the first project I did on Overland – I don’t connect to just a drive through. I like to build space for people to connect with us and connect with our concept and connect with our team, and other people who live in Boise,” she said.
