I’m pleased to welcome Margaret Carmel to the BoiseDev team, starting August 24th.
Margaret covers the City of Boise beat like no one else, and I’ve long appreciated her work. At BoiseDev, she will cover Boise government, politics, and development. She will also continue to provide coverage of the challenges the tight housing market presents to lower-income members of our community, and the Treasure Valley as a whole.
Margaret worked in a similar role for the last several years at the Idaho Press. Her work on last year’s election, growth, issues surrounding housing and homelessness, and more have been top-notch and will add even more depth to BoiseDev.
She was the runner up for the Idaho Press Club’s Reporter of the Year award this past year, and won a first-place award for business writing in the Virginia Press Awards while working at the News & Advance in Lynchburg, VA. But most importantly, she’s a reporter who truly cares about producing stories that inform and improve communities.
You can reach out to her by email starting August 24th at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is the latest addition to the BoiseDev team as we’ve grown this summer. She will join Anna Daly Gamboa, Autum Robertson, and myself in generating local, independent journalism. Our mission remains the same as it has since BoiseDev launched: reader-focused news coverage.
This site is locally owned, and our journalism is made possible thanks to the support of more than 800 members. You can join today and help support our work. And one of the perks is you’ll get to read Margaret’s great stories before anyone else!
