About

BoiseDev is a micro-news site focused on development growth in the greater Boise, Idaho area

The effort started in 2013 with a series of tweets. The popularity of the tweets led to a newsletter in 2015, and this website launching in 2016. BoiseDev has grown to be the most laser-focused place to find development news and notes in the greater Boise area. Long-form stories mix with quick hit items and an extensive Project Tracker.

BoiseDev.com is the most visited business news site in Idaho, serving tens of thousands of Idahoans every month. We maintain an active Facebook group where many stories and ideas are shaped by our community of readers.

The site is supported by limited advertising and a membership program known as BoiseDev FIRST

Publisher

Don Day is the publisher and owner of BoiseDev. He spent nearly 18 years with the KTVB News Group – building KTVB.COM from less than 1-million views per month to more than 25-million – and developed mobile apps, innovative platforms, and received significant recognition for his work – including the prestigious National Edward R. Murrow award for best newscast, and – with a team of talented folks – two additional National Edward R. Murrow awards for best website. After ten years in news, Don moved to a management role as digital sales & product manager – where he managed a team of folks who help build top-notch marketing solutions for advertisers.

In 2017 and 2018, Don worked with journalists around the world at Stanford University as part of the John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship. Find more about his work at Stanford.

Disclosures: Don’s family owns and manages the Vista Village shopping center on the Boise Bench, as well as a few other assets in Boise. He has no personal stake in the business. This fact will be disclosed on items when appropriate.
