Moxie Java was once the dominant player in the coffee shop game in Boise.  These days, it plays fourth or fifth fiddle to Starbucks, Human Bean, Dutch Bros., etc.

For a time, it looked like the Moxie brand might be surging back in Boise after every single one of its outlets in the City of Trees closed.  The Caffe Capri locations in Vista Village and Hillcrest, which used to be Moxie Java outlets — flipped back to Moxie.

But one of those shops already is taking down the Moxie signs (again).  The spot in the Hillcrest Shopping Center has reopened as Strongline Espresso. The new single-location outlet held its grand opening October 30th.

In addition, the Moxie Java in Vista Village is combining with Blimpie and should reopen in coming days. It will be joined by the Moxie on campus at Boise State as the only two locations in the Boise city limits.
