Flatbread plans to add downtown patio

Flatbread Neapolitan Pizza is one of Downtown Boise's best-located restaurants.  Right on the corner of 8th & Main streets with a second floor spot that gives it a great perch overlooking the downtown renaissance.

It moved up the street from a location next to Hannah's on Main St. - and the only thing it lost in the move was an outdoor patio.

But that's likely about to change, BoiseDev.com has learned.  The eatery has secured a license agreement with the Capital City Development Corp. for a patio adjacent to the 8th & Main building on the 8th Street side.

A podium for the seating will be added along 8th Street according to filings.  Tables could be installed this spring.

You might be thinking -- how is a second floor restaurant going to have a patio on the ground floor?

A spokesperson said they applied for the license to "make sure an outdoor patio was feasible," and that they are still working out all the logistics.

Flatbread will join a rapidly growing roster of 8th Street patios - including Lucky Fins, Buffalo Wild Wings, Ruth's Chris, Piper Pub, Fork, The Mode Lounge, Juniper, Matador, Red Feather, Bittercreek, Prost, newly opened Eureka!, Jamba Juice, Dawson Taylor, Thomas Hammer, Mongolian Grill & Bar, Zeppole and the forthcoming Diablo. That's 18 outdoor places to sit and eat within just three blocks.
