Pollo Rey to close, be replaced by Diablo Mezcaleria

BOISE – Pollo Rey at 8th and Idaho Streets will close, and be replaced by Diablo Mezcaleria (mezcal is a type of distilled spirit from Mexico – and, well, diablo means devil or evil).

The new restaurant will add the glass garage doors featured at the nearby Bittercreek & Red Feather in the same building on 8th Street. An indoor/outdoor bar will be added to the south facade along Idaho Street with ten outdoor seats.

The current small patio will be enlarged to accommodate 68 seats when the weather is nice – making it one of the higher-capacity patios in Downtown Boise. Roughly 75 seat will be available inside, totaling to more than 150 seats.

Diablo Mezcaleria enters a booming 8th Street patio dining scene. In recent years, Fork, Juniper, Ruth’s Chris, Lucky Fins, Matador have added full service dining options to stalwarts like Red Feather and Bittercreek.  Buffalo Wild Wings just opened at the Grove Plaza and Eureka! comes online in coming weeks.
