Another national brand restaurant is about to make its entrance into the Treasure Valley.

LongHorn Steakhouse has filed with the City of Boise to open a location at the corner of Franklin and Milwaukee – on the site of a current Chili’s restaurant.

That aging Chili’s will be demolished – and staff and employees will move to a new Nampa location as had been previously announced.

The LongHorn concept is owned by Darden Restaurants. This will be the company’s third concept in the Boise market – along with Olive Garden and Yard House. LongHorn carries a Texas-type theme and serves up steaks and the like.

Chili’s opened the Franklin location in 1990 with just more than 3,300 square feet. The new LongHorn building will clock in at more than 5,500 square feet and seating for 200.

The Chili’s near Boise State will remain open.

The plan will go before Boise’s Design Review committee for approval.
