Slowly but surely, businesses are signing up to make Boise’s Barber Valley their home.

The latest is Hollywood Market Yoga – which is at work on plans for a new yoga studio in the Barber Station development near the Boise River.

Owner Sallie Cain Herrold said she is in the design and planning stages for the studio now.

“We hope to open in the fall (of 2019),” Herrold said. “We will be holding a teacher training in the spring in Belize and an intensive in the summer of 2019 to get people interested in teaching yoga trained to help us open.”

She sees a great opportunity to bring her brand of yoga to the area.

“I feel that Harris Ranch and Southeast Boise are very underserved for yoga.”

The new location will be on E. Barber Drive near an existing (and lonely) Boise Dance Alliance Building. BoiseDev also first noted work on a possible future Tavern restaurant in the area, as well as an Albertsons and more.

The first Hollywood Market location in Boise’s North End took an adaptive reuse approach to the longstanding building that housed a small market on 8th Street. After the death of founder, owner and operator Margaret Lawrence in 2011, Cain Herrold worked to revamp the building into a modern yoga studio. Lawrence’s slogan – Happiness is Spoken Here – moved from a sign outside the building to one inside the studio – providing a link from historic to new.
