Last November we told you of the plan to open a Detroit-style pizza and beer joint in an old Pizza Hut on Vista Ave.

Now the spot has a new name and hopes to open this month.

Spitfire Craft Pizza & Pints has remodeled the former chain restaurant with a sporty flair – featuring pennants from regional teams and TVs for catching a game with your meal.

The owners said on Facebook they hope to be open by late August. Here’s how they describe the business:

Spitfire Craft Pizza & Pints will be the first in Boise to serve Detroit Style Pizza. (It’s hip to be square!) We will also be serving Chicago Thin Crust and hand-tossed sourcing from as many local Meat & Veg. we can muster. We have a 16 tap in house to satisfy you (sic) beer needs as well as tons of Cans, Bottles & Wine. We want to support local brewers as well as local Microbrews on our taps. We aim to make Spitfire a fun, relaxed atmosphere to hang out with friends and loved ones, watch Sports, support the businesses in our neighborhood, and be a meeting place for all the big games!
