Local Mexican restaurant expands near Downtown

The local Jalapeño’s Bar and Grill is working to open its third Treasure Valley location.

The margarita and taco spot has hung a coming soon sign outside the old Tailgate Bar & Grill location on Ann Morrison Park Drive near Capitol Blvd. The Ted Challenger-owned Tailgate went out of business earlier this summer.

The chain started with a location in Nampa before expanding to Boise on Franklin Rd. near the Boise Towne Square Mall.  The outlets serve traditional hearty Mexican dishes, with a full bar and patio.

The new location is set for the bustling Lusk St. area which has boomed with the addition of student housing in recent years.
