The owners of Tavern at Bown Crossing remain tight-lipped.
In June, BoiseDev reported an application by the Tavern’s owners for a new restaurant in the Barber Station development across the river from their current restaurant in Bown Crossing.
After that item ran, spokesperson Dean Sorensen said “My client has not purchased any property for a new location, and is just doing some due diligence.”
That due diligence includes an extensive design review application with the City of Boise, which was approved by staff earlier this month.
It also includes a conditional use permit to exceed the number of parking spaces called for in the Barber Valley specific plan. That request was approved by Boise’s planing & zoning commission this month as well.
Now the current Tavern at Bown Crossing restaurant is up for lease, according fo a flier from NAI Select. The leasing information says the restaurant space is available begining in March of 2019.
Sorensen didn’t reply to an updated request for comment last week.
The new Tavern location at ParkCenter Blvd. and Barber Valley Drive would feature seating for more than 200 diners, including a 3,400 square foot outdoor patio with a walk-up indoor/outdoor bar accessible from the Boise River Greenbelt.
In late 2016, Tavern at Bown Crossing was sued for eviction as BoiseDev was first to report. That lawsuit was later resolved. The new location is about 1,500 feet from the current Bown location as the crow files.
