Another unique project is set to add life to Garden City – with a four-story mixed-use building that will feature housing, retail, office and a new restaurant for Boise-based charity Life’s Kitchen.

CSHQA designed the building for Kilmainham Holdings, LLC of Boise – and will revamp a block at the corner of 34th St. and Clay St., just a few blocks off Chinden Blvd. and part of Garden City’s Live Work Create District.

Life’s Kitchen helps 16-20 year-olds obtain workforce skills through training and on-the-job experience. The organization also helps teens get their graduation equivalency diplomas, as well as mentorship and job placement.

The new Life’s Kitchen restaurant is set to take up 5,490 square feet on the ground floor, joined by another retail space. Admin offices and classrooms for LK are on the second floor, as well as two office spaces and structured parking.  The third and four floors feature 22 one and two bedroom apartments with balconies, plus a pair of rooftop decks for residents.

The project will go to Garden City’s Design Review board for approval.
