You asked: What’s up with work at 11th & Myrtle, Boise & Eckert

We’ve had a flurry of questions in the past two weeks about crews pushing dirt around in Boise.  Neither project rises to the usual level of interest for BoiseDev – but because folks are asking, here’s what’s up:

  • On the large block at 11th St. & Myrtle St. across from JUMP, crews are working to build some temporary parking.  JRS Properties has applied to build the 173 space lot for JR Simplot Company employees. Another small plot of land on the block owned by Hawkins Companies will also have a temporary parking built for about 20 cars. Simplot employees currently have access to an underground parking facility under the headquarters building, as well as other spaces in the downtown Boise area.
  • At Boise Avenue near Eckert Rd. adjacent to the New York canal, crews are performing work related to canal maintenance, according to an employee of the Nampa/Meridian Irrigation District.  The district is part of the State of Idaho and owns about 13 acres of land surrounded on three sides by Boise Ave.
