Named for the doggie in the window: pet market set for Downtown

For a business that isn’t even technically open yet, Molly’s Healthy Pet Market attracted a crowd this weekend. Maybe the cute dogs in the window helped.

The store is named for Molly, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who huddled in the window with her pal Sophie Saturday.

The store is set to open in a few weeks in the old Lux Fashion Lounge spot on Idaho St. near the Vandal Store. The owners decided to throw open the doors Saturday to capture some of the crowds downtown during Small Business Saturday, the Festival of Trees and Capital City Public Market.

Molly’s stocks a line of healthy pet foods and treats, plus accessories like collars, sweaters and pet-focused home decor.
