Modern furniture store closes Village at Meridian store

Z Gallerie closed its store in the Village at Meridian in recent days.

The furniture and home decor store occupied a 9,800 square foot space near Big Al’s in the south portion of the development. It opened along with many of the other initial retailers in the large development at Eagle Rd. and Fairview Ave.

A message seeking comment from Los Angeles-based Z Gallerie on the closure was not immediately returned. Village at Meridian management was not available for comment Monday.

The store held a short liquidation sale with escalating discounts up to 90% over the weekend. Workers emptied out the location by Monday morning.

Z Gallerie is based in Los Angeles, CA and owns nearly 60 stores in more than 20 states.

The retailer opened the Meridian store in June of 2014 on its 35th anniversary. The closing appears to be isolated. Z Gallerie recently opened two new stores.
