New condo project planned for Boise’s west downtown

A developer proposes to turn an empty lot along Idaho street into a condominium project.

Cinco Talentos is seeking design review approval from the City of Boise to build 18 condos at the corner of Idaho St. and 18th St.

The full filing detail hasn’t yet been submitted, but the application indicates the developer hopes to build a single building with three stories containing the 18 units. The project would total about 16,700 square feet in all.

Parking for 17 cars would be provided on site- that’s less than the 21 required for that area, though the applicant is asking for four parking spaces to be off site. Space for 30 bikes would be provided.

The site is currently vacant with some surface parking. Historical imagery from Google Earth shows the site has been empty since at least 1992.

The new condo proposal is just a few blocks away from the Idaho St. Townhomes which brought redevelopment to an older mostly single-family neighborhood.
