The big new Albertsons is done. When will the other planned stores crank up?

One of the questions I get most often is a variant of “when will that store they’re planning near ME open?”

The retailer is in the planning stage of three new stores in a triangle of growing areas of the Treasure Valley:

“We have acquired property in those locations,” Albertsons spokesperson Kathy Holland told BoiseDev during a tour of the new Fairview Ave. store earlier this month. “Now it’s just trying to figure out what comes first.”

Holland said they also have land for a new store in Billings, MT in the plan.

“We got through Broadway and Market Street. Now it’s going back to the table and (seeing what has changed). Things have shifted just a little bit. Star is growing tremendously. Southern Meridian is growing tremendously.”

She said there is no firm answer on what could happen next.

“We’re super excited for these new stores to come.”
