Tropical Smoothie sets another Boise location

Boise State students get ready. Tropical Smoothie Cafe continues its Boise expansion with a third location planned for Broadway Ave.

The fast-casual restaurant plans to go into a portion of the former Key Bank on Broadway Ave. near University Dr. Plans show the bank space divided in two, with Tropical Smoothie along the south side of the building.

Planners proposed to add a new patio planned along Broadway Ave., and utilize the existing bank drive-through area for the restaurant.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe features a menu of smoothies, of course, plus sandwhiches, wraps, salads and quesadillas. The chain started in Florida in the 1990s before expanding nationwide.

Locations are already up and running on Overland Rd. in Boise and in the City Center Plaza development downtown.
