That huge building at Franklin & Cloverdale? We finally know what it will be

It’s one of the most common questions over on the BoiseDev Facebook Group: What the heck is going up at Franklin Rd. & Cloverdale Rd.?

We reported back in November on the building – a two-story 36,950 square foot materials supply business of some type.

Now, sign permits indicate the structure will house The Floor Trader Outlet. The business is owned locally by CJD Investments, whose principal Casey Dillabaugh also owns the Flooring America stores in town.

Flooring America and Floor Trader Outlet are sister businesses with different market targets. Flooring America stores are targeted at the luxury segment, with full service. Floor Trader Outlet uses a wholesale model – where customers can select floor covering products in stores and haul them away for do-it-yourself installation or using a third party to install the product.

Floor Trader Outlet locations are independently owned and part of a national buying collective.

The $3-million building project is nearing completion.
