Construction will soon begin on a large daycare facility in Boise’s Barber Valley.
The Barnyard Day Care and Learning Center won design review approval earlier this year. Crews will start work on the project at the corner of Warm Springs Ave and Millbrook Place in the Barber Junction subdivision. It will feature space for up to 231 children according to applications with the City of Boise.

The center’s website says it will accept students from age six weeks through 12 years old, with pet names like chicks, peacocks and calves.
The Barnyard plans show space for ten classrooms, two multi-purpose areas, a kitchen, and garage. An outdoor area will include a sandbox, play area, open lawn area, and garden boxes. Up to 106 kids will be allowed outside at one time.
The locally owned childcare facility will be just a few blocks from a planned future school in the Harris Ranch area. The $1.8-million building permit is Boise’s second-most valuable for the month of March.
