Well-known mall fast pizza chain set to give Boise mall fast pizza

The Boise Towne Square Mall food court has been without pizza for nearly a decade after the closure of Villa Pizza.

Now, a chain known for its mall pizza shops will add a Boise location.

Jack and Candy Bonawitz of McCall applied to revamp the former Mongolian BBQ space in the food court for Sbarro. The $250,000 buildout will rework the space for pizza making and sales.

Sbarro features New York-style pizza, with large, foldable slices. It fields more than 800 locations around the country, primarily in malls and airports. This will be the chain’s first location in Idaho.

Sbarro brings a national name brand back to the food court, which lost McDonald’s, A&W Taco Time and Blimpie in recent years. Local outlets like Aladdin and Goodburger filled some of the openings.
