Many of you noticed work happening at Maple Grove and Emerald and asked about the project.
A new Gyro Shack is slated for the parking lot of the current shopping center on the NW corner. City planners approved the new building earlier this year, and a building permit was issued earlier this summer.
The new Greek restaurant will fill the westernmost portion of the building – about 1,500 square feet. It will include a drive-thru along the side of the building. The rest of the 4,722 square foot building is slated for future tenants.
“The proposed project will help complete the development on this portion of Emerald,” Jeff Hatch with Hatch Design Architecture said in an application letter. “Extensive site improvements are proposed to increase the amount of on-site parking and landscaping while promoting a more inviting site for pedestrians.”
The project includes 27 parking spaces and 4 bike slots. Access will come from the existing shopping center. A small inside seating area for Gyro Shack features room for 30 visitors.
This will be Gyro Shack’s 8th Treasure Valley location.
