Here a bank… there a bank.
The financial world in Boise continues to see banks change, morph, grow and even shrink.
First Interstate Bank of Billings, MT purchased Idaho Independent Bank of Boise and work is underway to integrate the two firms. In Downtown Boise, employees of First Interstate vacated the branch and back-office spaces in the Plaza 121 building at 9th St. and Idaho St. earlier this summer.
Now, Colliers International reports Mountain West Bank will take over both spaces. It currently has a bank branch and commercial lending office in the Hoff Building a few blocks away.
First Interstate continues to operate the former IIB branch at 9th St and Jefferson Zt. It also retained space in IIB’s building at 4th St. and Front St.
Tommy Ahlquist, Ball Ventures Ahlquist President and CEO said plans for a new branch and headquarters for First Interstate at Pioneer Crossing continue to move forward. He said a new branch location with drive-thru will open in the next 30 to 60 days. FIB will take additional space in the building as well.
First Interstate officials did not respond to a request for comment.
