Infill project to add apartments to site of old dentist’s office

It started out as a single-family home. Then, for decades, it served as a dentist office.

Now, a series of small “garden-style” apartments are approved for the .82 acre lot behind Axiom Fitness on Cole Rd. Victor Frangiosa of Boise applied to build the 24 units in three two-story buildings.

The developer proposes 30 parking spaces, three less than required, as well as 30 bicycle parking spaces – six more than required.

“The proposed configuration of the project capitalizes on the location of the site, allowing for the optimum density of living units and consolidated parking,” Steven C. Turney of ZGA Architects said in an application letter. The letter notes a bus stop is just about 400 feet away from the site.

Each of the units features two bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus exterior patios.

The project will go through Boise’s design review process. Planners have not yet set a hearing date.
