Boise Startup Week aims to boost local startup scene: what to expect

The fourth annual Boise Startup Week looks to highlight and energize the local startup scene next month.

The free event continues to grow – and the 2019 schedule includes more than 70 events from October 4th through October 12th in Downtown Boise.

A whole set of ‘tracks’ allow attendees to focus on areas of interest. From food to health to tech to social impact – events are tailored to areas of growth in the Boise startup scene.

Friday, October 11th features NASA. The day includes speakers from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Boise State and more talking about how to use space-age intellectual property in startups and more.

A capital connect event on Tuesday, October 8 will feature speakers from name brand local startups like Kount, Cradlepoint, and Truckstop.

The second annual Trailmix on Wednesday, October 9 will give more than a dozen entrepreneurs in the food space a chance to land products in Albertsons stores. The event is open to audience voting and winners also earn a $20,000 cash prize. Snacktivist Foods of Coeur d’Alene won the first event with its line of gluten-free and vegan snacks.

The lineup of events is sewn together with networking events, dozens of speakers, pitch events — and even a dodgeball tournament.

Boise Startup Week events are free to attend and take place at Jack’s Urban Meeting Place, Trailhead, the Knitting Factory and Boise State’s Venture College.
