A Nampa-based ice cream shop on a quick expansion kick hopes to add a new location in Downtown Boise soon.
The ice cream shop signed a lease in the Main + Marketplace center at the corner of 8th St. & Main St. in Downtown Boise, according to a release from Colliers International, which represented Stella’s.
“Do you like your ice cream in a cone? How about in a bowl with a brownie? Or sandwiched between too (sic) fresh baked cookies? Or submerged in a cup of soda?”
Stella’s serves a rotating menu of flavors it posts each day on social media.
Nampa’s Chad Hartley opened his first location in Downtown Nampa on Third St. in 2018. According to the Idaho Press, Stella’s shares its name with the Hartley’s dog. The Idaho Press said Chad and his wife fell in love with Italian-style gelato shops on a trip overseas.
After opening the Nampa store, a second store opened in Eagle earlier this year near Intuit Boise. A Stella’s food truck also rolls the streets, with a full schedule of stops – including Northwest Nazarene and College of Idaho basketball games.
The Boise location is expected in 2020.
If Downtown Boise ever gets a streetcar, Stella will fit right in.
