A large big box store on Milwaukee St. near Boise Towne Square will swim with the fishes soon.

In 2016, Zurchers moved out of a 10,109 square foot space in favor of a larger store in the old Cost Plus location in the same center.

Now, permit filings indicate a new swim school will set up shop at 1001 N. Milwaukee St. in Boise.

Boise Swim School LLC applied to convert the building for the Goldfish Swim School. Goldfish is a franchised swimming lessons school with locations throughout the US.

Goldfish promotes lessons in heated pools and a design with “vibrant colors.” The Boise location would offer year-round swimming lessons for children from age 4 months through 12 years.

Typical locations include party spaces, private changing rooms, swimsuit driers, a pro shop and snack bar.

The Conditional Use Permit with the City of Boise calls for a new indoor swimming pool retrofitted into the existing building.
