Work to build a new eight-story apartment and retail building in Downtown Boise started recently.
If you didn’t notice, you might have heard it today.
Work crews spent much of the day working to drive pillars into the ground at 6th St. and Front St. in Boise Wednesday. The loud, rhythmic clanging noise echoed throughout downtown from the future site of The Vanguard.
The noise won’t last too long though, according to a worker on site. He told BoiseDev the project would put down eleven pillars, with each one taking about twenty minutes to complete. It should wrap up before the end of the day.

The new apartment project, on the site of the former BizPrint store, will bring 75 apartment units. The building will also feature ground-floor retail on 6th St.
