Boise Towne Square Mall fully closes

Brookfield Properties, which operates Boise Towne Square, formally closed the shopping center today.

The mall drastically cut hours last week in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the mall will remain ‘temporarily closed’ during the response to the virus.

“Essential stores and restaurants with exterior-facing entrances remain open to service your needs,” Brookfield said in a statement.

Only a few retailers at the mall maintain exterior entrances. The Cheesecake Factory remains open for takeout and delivery orders. Old Chicago fully closed its mall location. Kohls, Macys, and JCPenney also closed their Boise stores.

One mall merchant tells BoiseDev that only a handful of stores remained open over the weekend. The parking lot for the regional mall remained mostly empty as residents heeded warnings to stay home and avoid public places.

Stores on the mall’s property but not part of the physical mall itself may remain open. You’ll want to check in with individual merchants before you go.
