Jacksons to give local restaurant gift cards and coupons to employees, customers

Boise Centre is open

Meridian-based Jacksons Food Stores announced it started a program to give a boost to several local restaurants in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each of the company’s employees will receive two $20 gift cards to one of a dozen local restaurants, include The Griddle, Gino’s, Jalapeno’s and Indian Creek Steakhouse.

Jacksons also said it would hand out $5 coupons to the same eateries to customers who fill up with at least 10 gallons of gas at Jacksons and ExtraMile by Jacksons locations.

“We’ve always been a part of the communities we serve, and we’re doing what we can to support local restaurants and fellow business owners who are struggling with the economic devastation of the crisis,” Jacksons President Cory Jackson said. “This provides immediate cash flow and customers for these independent businesses.”

The coupon program will run through April 20th. Jacksons started with a single fuel station in Caldwell in 1975, and now owns more than 260 stores across six states. It also operates a joint venture with Chevron that includes 900 ExtraMile branded convenience stores across the west.
