Chuck E. Cheese is the place where a kid can be a kid, or so the vintage ads say. They also serve pizza.
The allure of Chuck E. Cheese isn’t its food, per se – but it is served.
Now, if you open your Grubhub app near the Chuck E. Cheese location in Boise, you’ll be presented with a tantalizing new pizza joint: Pasqually’s Pizza and Wings. A closer look reveals its address – 6255 W. Fairview Ave. — is the same as the children’s play place.
The Chuck E. Cheese character is a rat. Or a mouse. A cartoon rodent of some type. Pasqually P. Pieplate is a member of Cheese’s pretend band.
“CEC Entertainment, Inc. recently launched Pasqually’s Pizza & Wings nationwide,” A Chuck E. Cheese spokesperson told Food & Wine Magazine earlier this month. “The inspiration was rooted in the desire to create a premium pizza while staying true to the CEC brand.”
The unnamed spokesperson told the magazine the recipes would be a little different than if you roll up to Chuck E. Cheese with your kids. The crust is purportedly thicker and there’s more sauce.
Correction: Pasqually is a fake chef, not a fake mouse. We regret the error.
