Along Grove St., two new apartment projects slated to move forward this spring are on track. Developer Clay Carley and several partners look to build two different projects on land Carley owns at 6th and Grove.
One building would include affordable units aided by tax credits, while another would feature market-rate apartments.
Carley said the project should start soon.
“We should start moving dirt if not next week, the week after,” he said. “Moving forward, I’m optimistic. I’ll be glad when we are finally under construction.”
Retail space along the ground floor remains on the market. He said he has a letter of intent for a portion of it, but no announcements yet.
“Even with the COVID nightmare, there’s strong interest to occupy that space,” Carley said. “I don’t think it will be that challenging (to lease it up), but we’ll see.”
Carley said the projects will take about sixteen months to build out.
