From shoes to mattresses: Boise’s mall adds tenant in turbulent time

A new store applied with the City of Boise to remodel a space at Boise Towne Square.

Tempur-Pedic Mattresses plans to convert the former Clark’s Shoes space on the lower level of the mall near JCPenney for a small mattress showroom. It would give the national brand mattress company, known for its memory foam products, its first company-branded store in the Treasure Valley.

Tempur-Pedic stores primarily operate in larger markets – the closest locations to Boise are in the Seattle area and near San Francisco. The products are also available at other retailers, including that JCPenney store a few feet away in Boise.

It replaces Clarks, which closed last summer. Several other stores are slated to open at the mall, including womenswear company Windsor and an Escape the Room outlet.

Tempur-Pedic will join another small showroom furniture concept at the mall – Lovesac opened earlier this year featuring modular couches and beanbag chairs.

Boise Towne Square continues to see more stores open after it closed for more than a month during the COVID-19 pandemic.
