Another Idaho mountain lodge for sale: sellers hope for someone with ‘passion and love’

Regence Blue Shield of Idaho

Another Idaho Mountain destination is for sale.   Last week, we told you about Featherville Resort near Pine hitting the market.

Now, the owners of the historic South Fork Lodge are looking for a buyer to carry on their vision. Less than a two-hour drive from Boise, on the South Fork of Idaho’s Payette River, the lodge has been a destination for Boiseans since 1937.

Listed at $986,000, the property, located right off Highway 21 near Lowman, is 4.38 acres and includes a lodge with 10 guest rooms, three rental cabins, bunkhouse, restaurant, and bar.

Chris and Beth Armour bought the lodge in 2016 after it had been sitting vacant for nearly eight years.

“The lodge is an important part of our community and we have developed a good faithful customer base,” Chris said. “People are counting on us being open.”

After buying the lodge, he said they spent a lot of time updating and opening it back up.

“We love what we have done with the place and are ready to hand it off to someone else so that we can spend more time with our family,” he said.

Chris said their mission is to find someone who will continue to run it as a lodge and restaurant and offer similar services including a place for people to have weddings.

“We want someone who will have the same passion and love for this place.”

Fishing, white water rafter, and swimming in the Haven Hot Springs are just a few outdoor activities people enjoy when visiting the lodge.
