Farmer’s market to supermarket: Idaho food startups to compete in annual competition

Trailhead, a local nonprofit supporting entrepreneurs, innovators, and business people, is teaming up with Albertsons this year for the third annual Trailmix Pitch Competition.

The event is held to showcase and create awareness for new and innovative food product companies in Idaho and the Northwest.

Last year, the Idaho Statesman reported Orchestra Provisions, a Boise company that makes spice blends out of dried crickets, won the 2019 competition and beat 49 other competitors. The 2018 winner was Snacktivist Foods.

This year due to COVID-19, products will be presented during a week-long digital event starting Monday, October 26th.

The prizes include a shelf space at the Broadway Albertsons, a check for $20,000 and several other prizes.

The deadline to apply for Trailmix 2020 is Monday, September 7th.
