Last local Skippers closes, building listed for lease

Almost to the day last July, BoiseDev reported that the Skippers on Fairview was for sale.

Now, the 43-year-old restaurant is closed and the building is on the market.

“Over the decades, I have very fond memories going there with my family members who are now no longer alive,” said native Idahoan Angel Petragallo.

Skippers Seafood and Chowder House has had locations across the Treasure Valley including Broadway, Overland, and one in Nampa. All have since closed.

It’s known for serving up fish, chips, clam chowder and other traditional seafood dishes.

According to Ada County records, the Skippers on Fairview first opened in Boise in 1977.

Correction: An earlier version of this story said the building was for sale. It is not. The property is for lease.
