Western Aircraft to expand, double size of Boise campus

Western Aircraft, an aircraft maintenance and repair company, announced its plan to expand and double the size of its Boise campus.

Located near Gowen Field on 18-acres of land, the current campus is 90,000 square feet and is expected to double in size to 183,000 square feet.

According to Western Aircraft’s announcement, the plan includes adding a hangar and back shop/office space. The project is expected to cost $17 million.

“We are proud to be based in Idaho and to continue to grow and expand our presence here in Boise,” said Vice President and General Manager for Western Aircraft Austin Shontz.

Along with additional space, the expansion will also bring more jobs to Idaho.

“From technicians to back- office support, Western Aircraft is creating more than 130 new high-paying jobs,” said Idaho Department of CommerceDirector Tom Kealey.

The project is expected to be completed early next year.
