Large tenant backs out of lease of old Shopko warehouse

Turns out the old Shopko distribution center in Boise won’t be so lit.

We told you last year that Solitco signed a lease for the massive 347,000 square foot former Shopko wearehouse near the Boise Factory Outlets in Boise. The lease fell through, and the property is now back on the market.

The company said it would convert the large building into a fabrication facility for solar products. The building is still listed as the future home of Solitico on the company’s website – which hasn’t been udpated in more than a year.

But the large warehouse is now back on the market. It is listed for sale at just more than $25 million, or for lease. The warehouse sits on about 16 acres of land in a portion of Boise that is quickly seeing redevelopment for industrial uses.

The warehouse served as Shopko’s distribution hub in this region of the country, but closed in 2019 after the department store retailer mostly closed its stores (a few Shokpo-branded optical centers remain, though not in Boise). The shutdown cost 111 local jobs.
