Boise’s Shark Tank: Businesses to participate in pitch competition

Earlier this summer, BoiseDev told you about Trailhead and its third annual Trailmix Pitch Competition coming up in October.

This is not the only competition happening during Boise Startup Week, however.

During the Pitch Competition, 20 startups will pitch their ideas and take a shot at winning the $20k grand prize.

Businesses will be judged on both the quality of the pitch and the strength of the venture.

Judges will look for “viability of the approach and strategy, the composition of the team including its skills, experience, and ability to identify and fulfill team gaps, and the impact its innovative solution will have on the problem its trying to solve,” the application page says.

Last year, Washie – The Cleaner Toilet Seat, won first place and $20,000. Free to Feed, the runner-up, won $5,000.

This year due to COVID-19, pitches will happen during a week-long digital event starting Monday, October 26th.
