Bench coffee shop closes, fitness shake shop on tap

Tamarack Resort Q4 2020

Moss Coffee and Tea closed its location on the Boise Bench, after just about a year in business.

“We have struggled rebuilding our sales in this new Covid world & made the difficult decision to concentrate on our Downtown & Eagle shop,” Moss wrote on Instagram. “We will always be grateful for our Bench customers & friends!”

As BoiseDev reported last year, Moss replaced the former Aero Caffe building at 201 N. Orchard. The Bench spot gave Moss three locations, but as they noted on Instagram, they will return to just two outlets.

Permits with the city of Boise indicate the building won’t be vacant long. Sarah Diaz of Meridian asked to occupy the building for The Fix – a nutritional shake shop. The shakes use a pre-packaged powder mix with ice and water. In the permit application, Diaz says she’ll make limited updates to the building.
