Boise Startup Week ready to go – virtually, with a twist

Idaho Business pres. by My 102.7

Boise Startup Week is back this year, but this time it’s going virtual. In the spirit of 2020 the theme of this year’s event is “B. Resilient!”

The event that looks to bring entrepreneurs together kicks off October 26 and goes through October 30. Each day is packed with several events that serve a broad range of interests.

Boise Startup Week has different “tracks” for guests to find specific events that interest them. Some tracks include health, art, media and food.

The opening keynote event features Mayor Lauren McLean, who will talk to attendees about the relationship between affordable housing and startups, the pandemic and more.

To add to the virtual experience, BSW launched a new app. Brella will match the user with people who have similar interests so they can message each other and conduct video calls.

There will still be a pitch competition. The Boise Startup Week website says judges look at the team’s pitch quality and venture. Also still in the schedule is the TrailMix Pitch completion that gives food startups the opportunity to compete for shelf space at Albertsons and $20,000.

The event is free to the general public. Tickets are available now on the Boise Startup Weekswebsite
