Bogus Basin will open for pass holders this weekend

Bogus Basin will open this Friday for the 2020-221 ski season, and because of enough snowfall, all ten lifts will be available.

“This has been Bogus Basin’s lucky year for early snowstorms, and snowmaking conditions,” General Manager Brad Wilson said. “It’s pretty amazing to be opening this early with great coverage throughout the area.”

For precaution of the coronavirus and to thank its guests, this weekend will only be open to season pass holders. Following the weekend, Bogus will close for two days and reopen Wednesday, December 2 for everyone.

Like many other ski resorts, Bogus has altered what lodging will look like this year. Lodges are open for restrooms, take out drinks and food and warming up. Bogus has also added a heated outdoor tent.

Bogus is following various COVID-19 guidelines this season. That means rules such as face coverings and psychical distancing are requirements.

“I can say with certainty that our team has done everything we can to keep our staff and guests safe,” Wilson said. “Now we need the community’s support. The success of the season depends on our collective willingness to follow our guidelines. It’s that simple.”

Bogus has laid out a plan for its season-opening weekend. The plan includes; weekend operating hours from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., opening the rental shop and operating the parking lot shuttles.

For the full season, Bogus will be open seven-days-a-week starting on December 2 and night skiing will start on December 12.
