A project would slide eight townhomes onto a vacant lot on the Boise Bench.
David Shurleff of Boise asked the City of Boise for design review approval of the project on a piece of land he owns at 1011 S. Orchard, directly to the north of the Orchard Plaza office building.
The application calls for an eight-unit townhome project on the small 0.3-acre site. According to historical aerial imagery, the site used to include a single-family house, but demolition crews removed it in the late 1990s. It remained vacant in the years since.

The project calls for a three-story building. Two of the townhomes would feature one bedroom, while six would include two bedrooms. Each would include a single-stall parking garage on the ground floor, with living areas on the second floor and bedroom or bedrooms on the third floor. The townhomes would also include small patios and decks.
The City of Boise previously approved a planned unit development permit this spring. The project now will go up for design review approval. No hearing date set, yet.
