Powderhaus Brewing hosts new farmers market each week

Powderhaus Brewing Company in Garden City started hosting a winter farmer’s market to fill the gap between the regular market season.

Market manager Chris Carlson said the Powderhaus market has around 15 vendors and started earlier this month. Some coming from the Boise, Caldwell and Capital City Public Market. The market mainly focuses on food. Some vendors include Potter Wines, Garden City Greens and Hudson Baking Co.

Because there are not too many vendors, Carlson said the market tries to avoid competition with products.

Though, if multiple vendors offer similar foods such as baked goods, the market asks that vendors try to not sell the same products

Carlson says the farmer’s market is “stressing local” and has already had multiple new vendors put on a waiting list to join.

You can stop by every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market offers beer, mimosas, and food trucks available to enjoy while shopping.
