Sun Valley Resort promotes Safety Week

Sun Valley Resort is promoting a safety week to keep guests informed on how to stay safe on the mountains.

“In Sun Valley, we take mountain safety very seriously,” Sun Valley Ski Patrol’s Bryant Dunn said. “Adhering to the Skier’s Responsibility Code demonstrates a respect for fellow recreationists and leads to a more enjoyable on-slope experience for everyone.”

Sun Valley created an initiative called Know the Zone to help guests better understand each mountain zone and the safety protocols. Starting today the resort will post videos to its social media to teach visitors more about this initiative.

During the week, there will also be a video that promotes backcountry safety. Sun Valley made the video in collaboration with the Sawtooth Avalanche Center.

“Continuing a long tradition of community partnership with the Sawtooth Avalanche Center, Sun Valley Resort is working to highlight the dangers of Snow Immersion Suffocation and tree well accidents throughout #ParnerUp! initiative video production and community outreach,” Dunn said.

More information on Sun Valley Safety Week is available on the resort’s website. Safety week runs from January 25 through the 30.
