New smoothie shop set to open in place of closed fro-yo outlet

Aspen Leaf Frozen Yogurt and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory on Broadway in Boise closed in January. In a Facebook post, the businesses cited the pandemic.

But even before Aspen Leaf shut down, plans for a new smoothie shop in the same location at 127 S. Broadway Ave. went into city planners.

Banano Classic Smoothies spent recent months remodeling the retail space for a new smoothie store.

Founded in 2017 in Billings, MT by the former franchisee of an Orange Julius store in the area, the smoothie joint boasts of the “world’s greatest smoothies.”

Banano (no, I didn’t mean banana, Google) says it offers an “expansive menu of fruit drinks, with optional lite, protein-enriched, or dairy-free varieties.”

The menu in Billings features creations like Raspberry Cream, Tropical Tornado and Caribbean Cruiser. Boosts include spinach, energy, vitamin C, and even cayenne pepper or fresh jalapeΓ±o.

Work on the shop appears done. We reached out to owners about an opening date and will update this story if we hear back.
