Another spot to satisfy your chicken sandwich craving could soon come to Meridian.
A permit request shows that a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen could open at 6343 N. Linder Rd. near Homestead Bar and Grill and Reed’s Dairy Meridian.
Popeyes serves a variety of fried dishes including its Chicken Sandwich, Signature Chicken, Popcorn Shrimp and Cajun Fries.
This 2,325 square foot location would have a drive-thru with two order spots and a dine-in area with 19 parking spots. The Popeyes would have a white exterior with accents of wood, brick and pops of orange and teal.
“The building itself is massed in such a way to provide variation and to highlight key areas such as patio space, drive-thru, main entry, ect,” The application letter said…”For example, brick is used to highlight the main entry and drive-thru, wood siding highlights the patio area. Despite the variations, the building is tied together with colors, parapets/cornices, and finishes to create a cohesive look that is in keeping with the surrounding buildings and overall look.”
The letter indicates that during the pre-application period, Meridian Planning and Zoning found issues with how the restaurant was utilizing the site. Since then, applicant ErikWylie of JRW Construction, has made adjustments.
“We have continued the driveway from the west across the vacant parcel, connected it to the main existing north / south driveway on the west side of the adjacent parcel and the subject property,” the application letter said. “We believe this will aid in circulation and provide excellent access to the Popeyes property and the drive-thru.”
This would be the chain’s second location in Meridian.
