The popular Foresters Club in McCall will reopen after a change in ownership.
Carey Real Estate Management bought the Lake St. club and plans to remodel it. Carey Real Estate Management is controlled by David S. Carey according to Idaho Business Entity filings. The Carey family also controls Hotel McCall and Jug Mountain Ranch.
A building permit application filed with the City of McCall shows a portion of the club will be split off and remodeled for retail space.
A liquor license permit filed with the State of Idaho shows a reconfiguration of the building, with retail space along Lake St on the east side of the building. A new bar runs along the west wall, with seating and a stage and dance floor in the rear of the building. Space for bathrooms, an office, and a small kitchen are also included.
As BoiseDev first reported last year, the 6,000 square foot building was listed for sale for just under a million dollars but it’s unclear how much Carey Real Estate Management paid for the club.
BoiseDev reached out to the company for a comment about the purchase and remodel but didn’t hear back by deadline. The listing said that the club sale includes a “liquor license and fully turnkey bar.”
Foresters Club, named after the thriving 1940s McCall logging industry, first opened in 1946. It evolved into a modern dance club offering live music and karaoke until closing in 2020. Since first opening, the club has seen several changes in ownership.
There is not an opening date listed for Foresters Club.
