You Asked: Here’s what’s happening at the old Popeye’s on Broadway

In 2019, the Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen restaurant on Broadway Ave. in Boise closed after just a few years in business. For a time, the franchisee hoped to put a Habit Burger in the space, but the plan didn’t come together.

A BoiseDev Facebook reader noticed that the for lease sign came down on the building, and wondered what’s next.

Breeze, LLC of Bend, OR will convert the building from its current fast food use to a new “state-of-the-art” laundromat facility. The company applied for a permit to demolish the current finishings inside the building to convert it for the laundromat use earlier this month.

According to business filings, Breeze, LLC is controlled by Eyal Goldman, who also operates a chain of Express Eco Laundromat facilities in Central Oregon, including in Bend, Salem and Redmond.

Breeze would join another chain, Rave Laundry, which recently opened two large, modern laundromat facilities in Boise and Meridian, and is building out another on Vista Ave. in Boise.
