Mountain Monkey Business on the corner of Pine St. and Lake St. in McCall is closing, but the owners plan to revamp and reopen the clothing store in part of the old Foresters Club.
BoiseDev previously told you about Foresters undergoing a remodel and splitting off a portion, where one side will remain a bar and dance club and the other will become a retail shop.
The shop space will house Monkey Love – a “modern twist” on the long-standing Mountain Monkey Business around the corner, which has been part of McCall for 35 years.
Shop owners Amanda Thompson and Michelle Groenevelt are looking forward to the new concept and location.
“Mountain Monkey business has evolved through the years and since we took over 5 years ago, we listened to our neighbors and loyal shoppers ask for more, and we are responding with Monkey Love,” Groenevelt said.
Expanding product line
The store will offer all the same fashion brands that Monkey Business sold, but will add more items for all ages and walks of life.
“Both young and old, including the furry ones, will find something special in the new location,” a news release said. “Along with fashion-forward options for men and women, Monkey Love plans to expand the selection for those looking to buy gifts and that means more for pets, picnics, coffee, and tea lovers and wine enthusiasts.”
Monkey Love will open in June 2021.
“We hope Monkey Love will be that place to hang out, join in special events, sit awhile and chat about what’s happening,” the release said. “It’ll be a place to get local recommendations, and, of course, pick up that unique gift for someone special.”
Mountain Monkey Business remains open, for now, at 501 W. Pine St.
